Did the Magdalene Mary marry Jesus? By the information in the New Testament, of course not. Jesus died
on the cross. But if you prefer the Quran, you might not be so sure. For the Islamic Holy Book teaches that
Jesus - a great prophet - did not die on the cross but was rescued by his friends. Rescued and did what? If
your chosen reading material is in the Gnostic Gospels or some recent ‘revisionist’ history, you might have
Jesus and Mary Magdalene happily retiring to Gaul – France - and raising a noble family, a lineage of kings.
Or maybe you like writing your own scripts; you might decide they’d already done enough for posterity, and have
them blithely expire breathe out in each others’ arms, perhaps on some Greek Island.
To gambol and make merry. Or, to gamble and make Mary. Are you prepared to have Jesus JEe, he’SUS
merrily making merry with Mary somewhere o’er la Mer?
It’s not much fun to play alone. It’s not much fun to win alone. It’s not much fun to die alone.
Are you ready to gamble on life? Are you ready to gambol?
We have emerged from the great ocean of life. We live and breathe and have our being in this sea. The sea is
ceaseless motion. The sea is eternal quiet. We return to it, becoming one with the ripples, one with the waves,
one with the tides, one with the stillness of the depths.
Merry the sailor who marries life to death, and death to life again. Marry the sailor. Mary, the sail o’er la mer.
Adam and Eve. Jesus and Mary. Somewhere o’er la Mer. Somewhere over the rainbow. Somewhere in Eden.
Somewhere in Paradise. Somewhere there’s a pair a’ dice to win the game of life.
